Death of a Salesman isn’t the only revival happening at The Shubert Organization. 2026 marks the fifth year that we are hosting summer interns. We had over a hundred applicants and our seven interns rose to the top to be selected.  I introduce to you the class of 2026 Shubert Summer Interns.

​Our interns started on Monday June 1st and have already made quite the impact on their managers. With such a strong start, I can’t wait to see how they progress over the rest of their internship. 

Friday June 5th, Shubert employees were able to enjoy popsicles, soft serve ice cream (my personal favorite) and a giant tic tac toe board at our annual Employee Appreciation Ice Cream Social. In true Broadway fashion, there was a step and repeat for employees to practice their best Tony’s pose.  Staff were even able to see their name in lights high above Shubert Alley.  

A wonderful time was had by all, and it was a great way to kick of Tony weekend. 

Once again, the Shubert Strivers participated in the annual JP Morgan Chase Corporate Challenge 5K.  Thanks to team captain Lynne Marie Mattos, we were Shubert strong with over thirty staff members. She even gave us a Couch to 5k training guide.  Mickey Goldmill has nothing on Coach Lynne.  (I may have aged myself with that reference).

If someone were to ask you what your work style is, I’m sure you’d be able to answer based on years of experience being you, but how accurate would your self-assessment be? Would your colleagues and coworkers agree with your assessment? There are many scientifically validated assessments to help you better get to know yourself and your work style, such as the DiSC assessment. The DiSC assessment categorizes personality types into four styles:

• Dominance (D): Direct, results-oriented, and competitive.
• Influence (i): Enthusiastic, optimistic, and outgoing.
• Steadiness (S): Dependable, sincere, and team-oriented.
• Conscientiousness (C): Analytical, reserved, and detail-oriented.

​Many mangers use this assessment tool to gauge teamwork, communication and leadership of their staff.  It's a great way to align your team to their strengths and the team goals.

On Sunday, May 17, 2026, the Shubert Queer Alliance ERG (SQAd) joined over 10,000 participants on a 6-mile walk through Central Park at the 41st annual AIDS Walk New York. This event is one of the largest HIV/AIDS fundraisers in the world and helps support GMHC and the lifesaving services they provide to New Yorkers living with HIV and AIDS. SQAd raised nearly $3,000 for this great cause and the event raised a total of $1.7 million.
 
Donning some very fashionable SQAd t-shirts, this year marked our first participation in AIDS Walk NY with a small, but mighty team! We look forward to returning next year with an even bigger representation from SQAd. Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Day is an annual event in the United States where parents are encouraged to take their children to work and teach them about what they do. It was established in 1993 by the Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Foundation. Today The Shubert Organization hosted our first Take Our Children to Work Day.  

The day began with a warm welcome from our VP of HR, Missy Flower, followed by a special tour of the Broadhurst Theatre. There, the children had the exciting opportunity to see behind the scenes of Cats: The Jellicle Ball.

We also had participation from several departments, including Events, Facilities, Box Office Audit, and Client Payment Services. Each group offered a unique perspective, giving the children a firsthand look at what their parents do each day at The Shubert Organization.
