On Friday, June 13th, members of The Shubert Queer Alliance (SQAd) gathered at New World Stages’ Green Room Lounge for their second annual Pride Month reception. This event celebrated our LGBTQ+ colleagues and allies, while also acting as a networking event for Shubert employees, with attendees ranging from Front of House staff to pit orchestra musicians.
With the current state of the world, Pride Month this year feels a little less…well, prideful. In fact, it can be scary for LGBTQ+ individuals to be out and proud. SQAd is thankful that amongst the chaos of the outside world, for a few hours, our coworkers were able to come together, relax, and celebrate themselves for who they are. Sweet sixteen. That phrase can be associated with a huge celebration; it can also be associated with March Madness. Now it can stand for how many Tonys The Shubert Organization won in the 2025 Tony’s award season. The Shubert Organization has achieved an unprecedented milestone in Broadway history by securing 16 Tony Awards during the 2024–2025 season, marking the organization's most successful year to date. This remarkable accomplishment underscores Shubert's unwavering commitment to excellence in theatrical production and its pivotal role in shaping the future of American theatre.

What a better way to end a red hot Broadway season than to attend The Shubert annual ice cream social. On June 6th, The Shubert Organization treated employees to a well-earned moment of summer joy with a company-wide Ice Cream Social. The event brought together staff from various departments, including theatre operations, ticketing, marketing, and administration—for a festive, flavor-filled break from the workday.
The event featured not one but TWO Mr. Softee ice cream trucks, where staff could get soft serve ice cream, popsicles, or even a banana split. The ice cream wasn’t the only sweet treat employees were treated to. This year, staff were able to see their preferred name on the marquee in the Shubert Alley. The atmosphere was relaxed and upbeat as employees mingled, shared laughs, and caught up outside the office setting. For many, it was a rare chance to reconnect across departments and celebrate the ongoing efforts that keep our theatres thriving. You can see the vibe captured in the photos that were taken. See you all next year. Last week Wednesday, May 28th, thirty Shubert Strivers, under the coordination of Lynne Mattos, Executive Assistant, Finance, participated in the J.P. Morgan Chase Corporate Challenge. Last year Mother Nature waited until we finished to let it rain, but this year, she had a change of mind. It rained the entire time, but that didn't stop us from finishing as a team with an average time of 51:39. So we have 360 days to train for the next JP Morgan Chase Corporate Challenge.
