Clean Up at the Great Broadway Sweep

9/5/2023

Picture
Shubert will be sponsoring a team of volunteers for the Great Broadway Sweep and we’d appreciate your support by participating!

The Great Broadway Sweep is being led by The Sanitation Foundation and We Love NYC and will be the biggest volunteer cleanup this city has ever seen. Volunteers from a variety of organizations will be cleaning Broadway ending in Times Square.

The clean-up runs the entire week of September 18, 2023. We have been assigned Friday, September 22, 2023, from 10am to 12noon to clean Broadway at 47th Street.  The clean-up will end in Times Square that day with a huge celebration, hosted by Andy Cohen and presented by Amazon.

Please note, your participation is voluntary, meaning if you are not scheduled to work, and decide to help us, you will not be paid for your time (but you will be contributing to our neighborhood). If you are scheduled to work, please check with your Supervisor for approval. While this is the great opportunity for everyone, we currently only have slots for fifty employees, so sign up quickly to be a part of the event.

You do not have to participate for the entire two-hour period, but rather can choose how much time you want to volunteer. If you will be there from 10AM, please meet in front of the Sardi’s building at 9:50AM and we will walk over together.

Please also email Cassandra James so she can keep track of who will be part of our team.

Shubert Represents at the 37th Annual Broadway Flea Market & Grand Auction

9/5/2023

Author: Eric Schwartz, Senior Director of Ticketing • Interactive Services

The Broadway Flea Market returns to Shubert Alley from 10am to 7pm on Sunday, October 1, 2023, to benefit Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS.

The Shubert Organization and Telecharge will celebrate 10 years at the Flea Market by offering fans the opportunity to take home opening night gifts, Tony voter packages, props, and scenic pieces from Bob Fosse's DANCIN', Grey House, KPOP, Leopoldstadt, Life of Pi, Ohio State Murders, Parade, Peter Pan Goes Wrong, The Phantom of the Opera, The Piano Lesson, Prima Facie, The Sign in Sidney Brustein's Window, A Strange Loop, Take Me Out, Topdog/Underdog, and more.

Each year, members of the Shubert team, led by Eric Schwartz, spend hours sifting through and cataloguing donated Broadway memorabilia and items recovered from our shows and theatres. Their hard work makes the Shubert table (actually tables) one of the biggest money makers of the event, last year raising $22,876 for BC/EFA.

The Shubert/Telecharge table will also feature piles of Playbills, window cards, mementos and unique treasures from the very walls of the theaters and The Shubert Archive. Shubert will also auction off a VIP experience which includes a private tour of The Shubert Archive and complimentary house seats.

Follow Shubert and Telecharge on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram for a sneak peek.
