![]() The 76th Annual Tony Awards aired on Sunday, June 11 on CBS, live from the gorgeous United Palace Theatre in Washington Heights, and it was a great night to be a Shubert show! Of the 26 categories handed out, shows in Shubert theatres brought home 22 of them, including Best Musical for Kimberly Akimbo, Best Actor in a musical for Some Like It Hot's J. Harrison Ghee, Leopoldstadt for Best Play, Best Featured Actor in a Play for that show's Brandon Uranowitz, and Best Actress in a Play for Prima Facie's Jodie Comer. Plus many more, which we hope you've seen! Speaking of, there's still time to catch Leopoldstadt before it closes on July 2. Click here for a full list of the winners. After a vigorous application and interview process by members of the Education and Training Committee, we're excited to share that the 2nd consortium of the Shubert Organization Internship Program has found its six students for summer 2023!
The candidate pool was incredibly strong this season—matching the goals of the Program, as well as Shubert’s overall goals for an inclusive culture, here and in the industry. The 93 applicants came from 66 campuses in 12 states and three countries. The interns will start their program with an orientation on July 10. If you happen to run into one of our interns, please introduce yourself.
